EAA 800 Meeting Minutes
19 Jan 2019

Meeting took place in the HAWK classroom which was reasonably warmed using propane heaters. We noted that we need to find our coffee making supplies and we borrowed bowls and flatware from HAWK. Also water and pop needs to be brought to the classroom. Other items as well, but since the next meeting will be at West Star there is no hurry.

Meeting was called to order.

Sterling is sick so abbreviated minutes were read. Michelle will attempt to take minutes for today's meeting.

Treasurer’s report: $25.01 savings $4101.52 checking

It is time to pay annual club level dues. Dues are $20 per year. Dale paid his dues. Ron also paid: now $60 in till for dues paid.

Dale spoke: The Commemorative Air Force exists to keep memory of WW2 alive and that of our brave pilots. Local CAF funds are low because of TBM wreck a few years back and repair costs associated. There will be many fund raising events. Dale wants to host a fly in for any type of plane (hopefully including HAWK's Cherokee) He hopes to include a STOL event as well, hopefully in July or August at GJT.

Braden Hobbs talked about how he enlisted in the US Army to be trained as an Air Traffic Controller.

Next meeting is at West Star Aviation where Craig Stout will talk about careers in aviation. Need to maximize kid participation in particular at this event. Time is 9:45 for short business meeting prior to Craig's presentation.

It has been expressed that EAA 800 wants to have more participation with speakers for our members during meetings. Members were asked to think about options for presentations and speakers.

Bryan reported Kim welcomes visitors to Phoenix. Also, Copperstate is February 8-10th in a nearby town.

The need to start planning Osh Kosh trip early was brought up. Bryan suggested a couple of fundraising options for HAWK KIDS. Bryan indicated that this would be on the agenda for future meetings.

Meeting adjourned. Chili lunch was delicious.
