EAA 800 Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 10:30 AM by Jay, the President.

There were no minutes from the September meeting to be read.

The Treasurer was not present, but the balance was assumed to be approximately $1300.

Chapters 800 and 1373 will again combine orders for EAA Calendars (20 calendars each). They will cost $10. The order will go in the end of October.

Members discussed the work they are doing on their projects.

Jay gave an interesting discussion of the composite materials he is using to build his Q2. This included the different types of foams and epoxies. Samples of some of the materials were passed around for inspection.

Jay also showed his SPOT locator beacon. SPOT is available from many outdoor supply houses and aviation avionics shops. It has world wide capability and costs about $150.

Steve discussed the upcoming Young Eagles day. Pilots and ground crew are needed. Steve did not yet have a head count on the number of kids.

The meeting was adjpurned at 11:20 AM for lunch.

While hamburgers were cooking, some members visited Bill Marvel's Zenith 801 and listened to the discussion of their current weight and balance issues.
