EAA 800 Meeting Minutes
11 Apr 2009

The April meeting was a joint meeting with the Montrose Chapter and was held at Blake Field in Delta. The meeting was called to order by Lowell Manary at 10:35 am. Each member present was asked to introduce themselves and tell a little bit about their aviation interests and accomplishments. This was followed by a discussion of the proposed TSA Security directives and their impact on general Aviation and what was being done about them in the Aviation community.

EAA 800 will have a Young Eagles Day on 18 April 2009, starting at 9:00 AM in Dag's hanger. Over 50+ kids are expected so anyone who can help as a pilot or ground crew is urgently needed. Please contact Steve Lindemann or Sterling Hurst as soon as possible.

Also on Saturday, 18 April 2009, Ed Woynowskie will celebrate his 98 th Birthday at Coffee Muggers in Grand Junction (644 Main Street, across from the Avalon Theatre) from 1 to 3 PM. Everyone is invited to come and say congratulations to Ed.

Sterling discussed the MYT engine that is a rotary piston configuration that advertises exceptional horsepower to weight output. This might be a power plant for future homebuilt airplanes.

One of the Montrose Chapter members announced a Fly-In at the Meeker Airport on 29 May 2009 that will include a Pancake Breakfast.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:35 AM for hotdogs and hamburgers
